How to get to Izmir?

In Izmir is located the famous Adnan Menderes International Airport that serves either international or domestic flights. By now this is the only one airport in the area but there is a project for the construction of another one because of the convenient location of Izmir and its well developed economy. The public transport is also wide spread and well developed. All kinds of transport can be used on the surface of Izmir, including urban ferries.
